🎮 Gameplay – 9/10

This isn’t just another action-adventure game with a whip slapped on top. This feels like a proper Indiana Jones experience — something we’ve not really had since the PS2 era. The pacing is tight: you’re never stuck doing one thing for too long. Combat, exploration, puzzles, and the occasional chaotic escape sequence all blend together nicely.

The whip is a standout feature. You don’t just use it to swing — you crack it to grab objects, pull enemies closer, disarm, flick levers — it’s integrated into the gameplay beautifully. Combat is simple but punchy (literally), and the punches land with that old-school movie sound that’s all biff and thud.

There are the odd AI hiccups and a few places where stealth sections feel a bit half-baked, but overall, the gameplay flows well and respects your time.
📜 Story – 9.5/10

The story could’ve easily felt like knock-off fan fiction, but it doesn’t — it actually feels like a lost Indiana Jones film. There’s a strong hook right from the start, and it unfolds with the same pulpy charm and globe-trotting mystery that defined the original trilogy.

You've got ancient artefacts, morally murky allies, double-crossing villains, and enough twists to keep things interesting. It also avoids modern writing traps — Indy isn’t a parody of himself or overly modernised. He’s still the scruffy, sarcastic, reluctant hero we remember.

If you grew up watching Raiders on a taped-off-the-TV VHS with grainy commercials between scenes, this’ll hit like a nostalgia sledgehammer in all the right ways.
🖼️ Graphics – 9.5/10

The environments are a work of art. Every location looks and feels like it could be a real-life set from a Hollywood film — from the sunlit ruins to shadowy tombs and windswept mountain temples. You’ll stop just to look around more than once.

Character models are sharp and expressive, and Indy himself is spot-on — his likeness, his animations, his tired-but-determined walk — all perfectly captured. The lighting is also top-tier and sells the atmosphere hard.

Minor texture pop-ins here and there, but unless you’re deliberately looking for them, they don’t stand out.
🔊 Sound – 10/10

They nailed this. From the opening score to the distant rumble of underground traps, everything sounds like it belongs in an Indiana Jones film.

The soundtrack blends original orchestration with subtle nods to John Williams’ iconic themes, and the timing is bang on — especially during chases or dramatic reveals.

Voice acting is strong across the board, and the sound effects (especially the whip, punches, and crumbling ruins) are deeply satisfying. Big cinematic energy, delivered flawlessly.
🕹️ Controls – 8.5/10

Whip mechanics are buttery smooth, which is a surprise considering how clunky stuff like this can usually be. Movement is responsive, platforming works well, and combat feels intuitive.

Climbing and ledge detection can occasionally get a bit awkward — a couple of jumps I was sure I could make just didn’t land. And the camera sometimes needs a gentle nudge in tight spaces. But nothing that gets in the way of the fun.

Works great on both controller and keyboard/mouse.
🐞 Bugs & Performance – 8/10

I had one crash early on, a floating enemy corpse moment that made me laugh more than anything, and a cutscene that played twice for some reason. But honestly, nothing major.

FPS held steady at 60 on high settings (RTX 3060), load times were decent, and I didn’t run into any progression blockers or broken puzzles.

I expect a patch or two will clean up the loose ends, but it’s solid out of the gate.

If you’re even slightly a fan of Indiana Jones — especially if you grew up with the original trilogy — this game delivers everything you’ve been waiting for. It’s not a cheap cash-in or a lazy reboot. It’s a fully fleshed-out, lovingly made Indy experience with proper storytelling, stunning visuals, and the kind of detail that could only come from actual fans of the source material.

It’s smart, it’s funny, it’s cinematic, and it scratches that itch no other game really does these days.

This is the closest you’ll get to starring in your own Indiana Jones film — without risking your life in a collapsing tomb.

Buy it. Play it. And whatever you do, don’t call it a museum piece.

7 destinations all mechanics the same, stealth passing guards, climbing, boxe ring, dress up to blend in... dissapointed in shangai and himalayas that are only a pass trough, no books to search, no notes to fetch, no people to talk to except GINA but overall great game like tomb raider style. recomended 4 out of 5 because save files suck, you have checkpoints to reach and cannot save mid run so pass the challenge or die and restart all run BAD choice so 1 less star !!!

The environments, voice acting, puzzles and story are incredible. But, the game play feels like something from 20 years ago. The stealth is absolutely basic with no changes at all from, again, games from 20 years ago: Just crouch and stay out of sight, hit enemy to knock them out. It doesn't help that the enemy AI is terribly incompetent - despite me putting the stealth AI at its highest difficulty, it's very easy to sneak right past in front of them or knock someone out. Big gunfights or explosions could happen as part of the story, but nearby enemies just carry on their day as usual.

Combat is much more fun, but even then, it's still clunky. Enemies will regularly crowd around you and come up so close that they might as well be kissing you, giving you little chance to use your classic whip. Indy shoves when you want to punch, his revolver takes ages to shoot, and every enemy fights the exact same way despite the """enemy variety""". The tutorial mentions an enemy type, the medic, who can revive bad guys during fights. But I've never ever seen this happen.

The bugs in this game are also incredibly annoying, including having the (horrendously implemented) journal glitch out and not letting me to go a certain tab, not being able to block out of nowhere, and random crashes.

I could really go on and on about the bizarre game play & mechanics - all of these I've mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. If you had told me this game was made by a smaller studio (like Teyon, which made the recent Terminator & Robocop games), I would have absolutely believed you. It's baffling that this is not only a AAA game charging nearly $100 for its standard edition, but was also made by experienced developers. What's even more baffling is that many people & critics hail this game as one of the best games in years, while also having only 50% of players completing the first main area of the game (according to the achievements). I would still say this game is worth playing through at some point because again, the presentation & story are great, but only when it's 60% off at the very least.

Incredibly boring.

Game is unplayable. Constant freezing. Most of the people who had this were on gamepass and not steam so me being on steam I could not find any fix.

For start I must say, that the story is perfect, classic Indiana Jones!!
BUT.........this game is "good", not excellent....I will not write about every issue in this game, the most disappointing was, that I had to turn off RAYTRACING when I came to the jungle in Siam....flickering textures of vegetation everywhere....I had the same problem in Vatican with some buildings when I was in front of them, but in the jungle I was calling for epileptic attack....(I had the same problem in last TOMB RAIDER, I played more then half of the game and after one stupid update of the game, the flickering started and I had to turn raytracing off)

I was telling to myself, when Elder scrolls 6 will be released, I will immediately buy a new computer.....but after playing this game and after reading last reviews of Oblivion remaster, I have changed my mind and I will wait, like I waited with CYBERPUNK 2077 for two years....and If you screw it, BETHESDA, I will not buy it!!!!!!

I have a top of the line gaming machine and it wont play this game. I keep getting a memory allocation error.
To hell with Bethesda. As usual publishing games that are not ready for release all for the sake of a dollar. The game has now been out for months and no fixes. Obviously the tech support from Bethesda do not have the ability to fix the issue.

Piss poor workmanship and incompetent support

Not open world. 7.5 out of 10. Beautiful graphics. Great adventure. It is sorta like watching the movie so lots of people will like that. I got tired of hearing Indiana Jones breathing and grunting so I turned that off. I had to watch YouTube to understand the reward system. Having to eat lots of bread got old. Lots of reading. Overall it's an OK adventure but I prefer truly open world games so to me I after 30 plus hours wish I could trade this game in for a different one. I purchased the $99.99 premium version so $99.99 divided by 30 hours means it cost me $3.33 for each hour I played. :( :(

As a long-time fan of both Indiana Jones and action-adventure games, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The gameplay is engaging and fluid, with that perfect mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat that defines the Indiana Jones experience. The story is also well-written and compelling, with great pacing and enough twists to keep me hooked from start.

That said, I ran the game on a Radeon 7900XT, and enabling path tracing turned out to be a bad idea. Performance took a noticeable hit, with frequent frame drops and stuttering that disrupted the otherwise smooth experience. It’s unfortunate, because the game looks fantastic even without path tracing, but trying to push those extra visuals with AMD hardware clearly needs more optimization.

In short: the game is a blast and definitely worth playing for the story and adventure – just steer clear of path tracing if you're using a 7900XT.

10/10 Definitely play this one, especially if you're a fan of Indiana Jones.

Great story, great voice acting, plays like a movie and honestly, it is more faithful to the themes, feel and experience of Indiana Jones than Indiana Jones (specifically the 4th and 5th movies, i still like them, but this game definitely feels like the first 3)!

Troy Baker does a fantastic job playing Indy and the whole game overflows with the feelings you get from the movies. Seeing the credits roll at the end with the Raiders March play, left me the same feeling I had watching these movies with my family for the first time.
