Significant FPS drop after every cut scene or after going into game's options
I have a pretty good set up (brand new MSI gaming laptop with a RTX 4080), using high setting with partial ray tracing (for some reason the game doesn't appear in the NVIDIA app for optimization?). By default the game runs very smoothly.

But since update 2, I noticed significant FPS drops after every cut scene or after I try to change settings.

In the Gizeh area, I go from 120+ fps to 80+ fps after a cut scene.
In the last area, I go from 100-110 fps to 50-60 fps after a cut scene.
Basically my frame rate drops by 1/3 after every cut scene.

The only way to fix this is to restart the game. Which mean to have optimal performance I have to restart the game after every cut scene. Which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for all these credit screens on game startup (any way to skip these?).

On another thread it looks like it might be an issue with DLSS frame generation turning off?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: I don't have the numbers but I suspect the overall performance of the game on my side diminished after update 2.

Yep, it's a thing:

Happens if a cut-scene kicks in too, when the cut scene ends framegen doesn't come back on.

Appears to work fine with DLSS on, but that still has everyone's eyes sparkling like they've walked off the set of Twilight.

This is proper amateur-hour stuff from MachineGames' debugging staff.

For the record, I absolutely love the game, I'm on second playthrough, but fix the basic stuff MachineGames, come on!

Happens if I just pause the game too.

Yeah same 3080TI with at a stead 60fps until i hit a cutscene 5-20fps, which remains into gameplay, until i restart.

Regardless of DLSS or not.

I have the same (3080 ti). It easily drops from 60 to 20 fps. Sometimes it drops at the beginning of the cutscene and sometimes after :(

I hope they fix Nvidia FG and also add FSR 3.1 upscaling and frame gen at some point.
I got the same problem with 4070ti In city I got 180fps after cut scene i got 125 fps and to fix it i must restart game, does anyone have fix for this ?

After almost 6 months still does the same thing

They STILL have framegen issues and for some reason they see some reason to disable it during cutscenes. The off/on breaks somewhere. It's absurd that it's still an issue. They've done nothing to fix it other than saying 'we fixed it'
