No controller I try to use (logitech, switch, 360 controller) will work. The game recognizes it, but If I push anything on it nothing ever happens. I've tried big picture mode, I've tried joytokey, I've tried reconfiguring it, nothing works.

Eugh. I'm... seriously at a loss here. I have never run this game before. I tried opening it, and nothing it happened. For a few seconds, Steam SAYS it's running and it registers that I'm "now playing" the game, but it doesn't open. Then it's just, gone, and the game never opens at all. Tried looking at a bunch of threads on this. I've tried running it as an administrator, changing properties, reinstalling the game, all of that, and I can't get anything to change.
